Movie Palooza!

This week has been movie palooza for the Langfords!  And Matt, sweet sweet Matt, bless his heart, all were chick flicks.  He really is a good sport when it comes to movies.  I will admit that in the past I am...how shall I say it, a little inept at picking out a movie that deserves a rating over D, but this week I was spot on.

Bridesmaids and Something Borrowed were both really cute!

Bridesmaids
Can ya dig it?
I can!
I didn't have high expectation, see above about my movie picking abilities.  The funny, fabulous, and sometimes incredibly awkward ladies made me laugh over and over.
Brazilian food anyone?
Seriously, I won't ruin it, but go see it and take your man because he will survive.

And tonight we were invited to go see :
Two things I love:
A movie with Kate Hudson (she can do no wrong)
A movie based on a book
Yes, this was the quintessential chick flick that at times had me rolling my eyes.  It wasn't a tear jerker, but by the end of the movie I was satisfied. I was sad that we had to part with $15 to see it and Matt's eyes and ears did not start to bleed.
I say all around a win!

Some changes are going to be coming to the blog over the next week or so, so keep your eyes peeled!

Black Swan was a Black Hole

After a lazy morning around the house we finally decided to shlep ourselves to Savannah and see a movie.  I had really been wanting to see Black Swan.  It had been raved about as a future award winner, so it was easy to convince Matt to go with me, he is really into movies like that.  I on the other hand are more into low brow comedies and children's movies.  You know the kind that don't really require much thought.
So...Black Swan it was.

Yikes.
I won't go into a lot of detail in case some of you still want to see it.  An hour into the movie we were still saying, "something good is about to happen" or "oh, surely it is about to get good".  Sadly, we were still saying that at the end of the movie.  It was weird.  I don't understand what was supposed to be good about it.

Yes, Natalie Portman did a good job acting, but I still didn't really like it.  That's my prerogative right? Also, I will admit that the ballet scenes were good and at times beautiful, but I am not really that into the ballet.  I don't know, it just wasn't exactly the thriller/drama I had anticipated in my  mind.  Some of you no doubt will probably go see this and say to yourself, "What was Chelle talking about, this is amazing", a few of my friends already have seen it and loved it.  So go see it and decide for yourself.
I do know one thing, I will have a hard time cutting my finger nails from now on.
I wish we had just gone and seen Country Strong.  I knew better than to listen to the critics (whoever they are).

Grease is the word

You know you love it!  And like the website said, it is the original High School Musical

Word on the street is, Grease is being re-released.  But not just as a movie, but in sing-a-long fashion.  Go ahead Matt, roll your eyes... I won't make you take me.  I am so excited.

I spent many nights/days/slumber parties being uber nerdy and singing and acting out Grease with my friends!

Unfortunately I don't think it came to my theater, go figure.  That won't stop me from getting it on DVD and reliving my adventures with Danny, Sandy, and the rest of the gang.

Sold Out

So my mom went out of town for the night with girlfriends and my brother and I talked my dad into sushi and movie.  He hasn't been to the movies in forever so it took a considerable amount of convincing.  We were going to see Grown Ups.  Sushi was great, but there was a problem...the movie was sold out.  FAIL.  We will probably never convince him to go to a movie for another 5 years.

Oh well, if your Friday night turned out like mine, I highly recommend finding and listening to Mel Gibson's released rants.  Particularly rant #4.  It is hilarious!  I can't say what he says on here because this is a family blog.

Goodnight Everyone!
